Thank you very much!!! It was iconic characters such as these that fueled my passion for illustration, and kept me pushing myself to go further with each drawing. Your contribution to the Doom series definitely sparked my imagination as well as that of millions of kids who were fortunate enough to grow up with such gems. With that, I think I owe you a huge thanks.
Thanks . My current plan is to render every enemy from Doom/DoomII. Baron of hell and Hell Knight will probably just be one rendering, since they were pretty much just palette swaps. The same may go for the arachnatron and spider mastermind, since they are just extremely similar. Either way, there will definitely be more Doom art coming.
Saw your other D00M fan art as well. This one and the Revenant are two of the best I've seen yet. You've done a great job with the rendering and design on both of them.
Looks like you struggled a bit with the arm on the left. It's flat and looks out of place. Other than that the piece is pretty damn bad ass. The dof effects are a really nice touch and complements the texture of the brainhead and the wrinkled skin on the opposite arm. I'd love it if you didn't mind checking out my D00M fan art and maybe share your thoughts. I'm trying to create a collection of all the characters from the game and my style and technique is all over the place. I'm thinking about just making portraits like yours cause making full scale paintings with backgrounds is way too advanced for me.
You're totally right. I might have to revisit that arm once I get around to rendering the other Doom characters. I plan on doing a version of all the Doom baddies, so I still have quite a few to go. But once I get the majority of them done, I think I'll revisit the ones that have any lackluster bits screaming out for more attention.
hehe.. yah when ya put it that way. Still it's not quite as funny looking as the Ninja Turtles equivalent. Considering the positioning on that one, I hesitate to wonder where the control stick is located.
